Vidim Te (I See You)

Film, 2025
90 Minutes
Language: English, Croatian, German.

Part of the Dalmatian archipelago, Iž is a small island (12.2 km long). Its largest village, Veli Iž, is home to fewer than 300 year-round residents. Through interviews with locals (aged 12 to 99), and a mix of new and archival footage, the film looks at local traditions and histories, personal nostalgias, and the challenges of adapting to changing times, rising sea-levels, and the impacts of tourism. Islands like Iž offer a microscopic glimpse into global issues.

Vidim Te is the first feature-length film by Sam Lubicz.

The film is complete but not yet publicly available. For inquiries regarding a private online screener, please contact via email.

The film is preserved in the Croatian State Archives (Hrvatski državni arhiv) in the Foreign Film Collection.

This project was made possible through support in the form of amobility grant in 2023 from Culture Moves Europe (EU Commision / Goethe Institute)
